Statement of the Board of PSRS in relation to the situation in Ukraine
The Management Board of the Polish Synchrotron Radiation Society condemns the hostilities of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, and calls on the Belarusian authorities and community to stop actively supporting these activities. We stand in solidarity with the Ukrainian nation in its tragic situation, which is unacceptable to democratic communities. It was hard to imagine that in the 21st century we would witness a war that was going on alongside us. We feel sorry for all the victims of this war. However, we hope that wisdom will prevail and peace will soon reign.
Like the authorities of many universities and scientific institutes in Poland, in order to emphasize our opposition to the war in Ukraine, the Management Board decided to refuse scientists affiliated with scientific units of the Russian Federation and Belarus the right to participate in any conferences, seminars and schools organized by the Polish Synchrotron Radiation Society.
At the same time, we express our hope that the restoration of peace in Ukraine will take place soon which will allow the ban to be lifted.
