Wojciech Gawelda and Katarzyna Jarzembska warmly invite you to participate in the workshop “XFEL Applications in Photochemistry and Energy Research” which will take place on November 24-25, 2026, at the Institute of Physics PAS in Warsaw. Participation in the workshop is free of charge.
The workshop will focus on the use of X-ray free-electron lasers (XFELs) in studies of ultrafast chemical reaction dynamics. In particular, scientific topics in the field of femtochemistry of molecular systems, both in the condensed and gas phases, will be presented. In addition, their applications in photoinduced chemical processes, such as photocatalysis and photovoltaics, as well as the latest achievements in the field of next-generation materials for energy generation and storage, will be discussed. Invited speakers will present examples of research in these areas using XFEL sources, covering both the soft and hard X-ray ranges.
The workshop will also be an opportunity for Polish scientists to present their own research results and to discuss new ideas for XFEL applications. We encourage the submission of abstracts for short presentations.
