The ESRF synchrotron offers the ability to work with one of the largest and most modern synchrotrons in the world. The ESRF opens up a whole range of possibilities, attracting great people and extremely interesting research projects.

The recruited winner of the competition will conduct experimental research in solid state physics using X-ray diffraction methods under ambient conditions and at high pressures and temperatures, with the possibility of extending to single crystal diffraction research. The research will concern the structure of various crystalline materials. Some of the crystals for temperature-pressure testing will come from IFPAN’s technological laboratories. Research experience in the field of solid state physics and chemistry is expected of the candidate. It will be possible to conduct your own research projects.

The employed winner of the competition will conduct experimental research in the field of solid state physics, using high resolution X-ray diffraction methods. The research will focus on the defect structure of thin layers and multilayers, synthesized mainly in the laboratories of the Institute of Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences. It will be possible to conduct your own research projects. The candidate should have experience in conducting research in the field of solid state physics and chemistry. Experience in X-ray diffraction studies will be considered favorable.
